Prepare once. Maintain continuously.
Build the Intune environment you can keep running.
Moving to Intune means preparing applications, establishing configuration and giving support teams useful device information. Devicie brings recurring application maintenance and managed policy correction into that preparation, so your team has an ongoing process when the migration project ends.
How the move is sequenced
Two paths to Intune. A plan for what comes next.
Review which workloads Configuration Manager manages and which are already managed by Intune. Agree the next workload to move, prepare its supported Intune configuration and validate it with a pilot group before expanding deployment.
Workload authority is switched in Configuration Manager, and a pilot collection lets you test a workload on a subset of devices first. Devicie's rollout is a separate control: supported policies are deployed in stages to the device populations you agree.
Where you already run Intune policies, your deployed configuration can be compared with the Devicie baseline before anything changes.
New and rebuilt devices can follow the Autopilot path. Existing devices can transition supported workloads through co-management. Identity, rebuild and retirement requirements depend on your environment. Devices reach cloud native later, as they are rebuilt or replaced through the Autopilot build.
Setup and operations
Prepare Intune for the move and what comes next.
Identify the applications to maintain, the supported Intune policies to bring under management and the configurations your team needs. Agree the rollout with your migration team, including who validates applications, approves changes and reviews deployment results.
Prepare applications for Intune and the next update.
Use maintained packages for supported catalog applications. For specialized software, submit installers through Devicie's reviewed Intune native app packaging workflow and reuse previous setup where applicable for subsequent versions.

Bring supported existing Intune policies under management or use Devicie configuration. Maintain the agreed state, review reported corrections and pause management when making deliberate changes.

Use reported application and policy details for investigation, Windows Modern Work Vitals for health and performance information, and warranty reporting for supported hardware. Reporting refreshes daily.

Define what Devicie handles in your SCCM migration
Devicie supports the Intune application and configuration work within your migration plan. It does not automatically convert SCCM applications, packages, policies or task sequences. Your team or migration partner leads the migration and its dependencies.
| Workload | Devicie provides | Your team or migration partner owns |
|---|---|---|
| Applications | Maintained packages for supported catalog applications and reviewed packaging of submitted installers. | Application selection, SCCM estate assessment, installer supply for specialized applications and business validation. |
| Configuration | Deployment and maintenance of supported managed Intune policies, including drift correction and change reporting. | Mapping SCCM settings, agreeing the intended configuration and approving deliberate changes. |
| Co-management | Supported Intune configuration for the workloads included in the agreed scope. | Workload transition decisions, Configuration Manager changes and rollout approval. |
| Devices and identity | Reporting on supported device and enrollment information available in Intune. | Identity design, licensing, enrollment, provisioning and hardware refresh. |
| Reporting | Supported device, policy and application reporting, refreshed daily, with API access. | Migration progress tracking, investigation, exception handling and operational decisions. |
Handover
Leave the project with a clear operating plan.
Before the migration closes, make the continuing work explicit. A clear handover gives your team a process it can operate after the project specialists leave.

As Intune changes
Keep improving as Intune changes
The next release or configuration requirement should have an established path. Devicie maintains catalog packages and develops and tests its configurations as Intune and security guidance evolve. Your team uses that work when deciding what to adopt.
See how a financial institution moved 1,300 devices from SCCM to Intune. Manual application packaging and updating was eliminated, and its endpoint team gained capacity to continue modernizing.
Questions we get asked
Do we need to be starting a migration?
No. An existing Intune environment can benefit from reviewing the recurring work around applications, configuration and device support.
Can we retain configuration we already use?
Devicie can bring supported existing Intune policies under management, so configuration you have already built in Intune is standardized rather than rebuilt. SCCM configuration is not imported: mapping SCCM settings to their Intune equivalents sits with your team or your migration partner. Confirm the supported policy scope for your environment.
Does Devicie automatically migrate Configuration Manager to Intune?
The capabilities described here do not establish an automated migration. Agree migration activities, responsibilities and dependencies separately.
Can we retire our existing tools after the move?
Only once their required workloads and dependencies have been covered and verified. Assess each tool against the operating model you intend to retain.
